Insulin Resistance

Insulin resistance drives weight gain, fatigue, and long-term disease — often years before blood sugar rises. NorthStar finds it early and targets what reverses it.

What it is

An evaluation and treatment focus for insulin resistance — the state in which cells respond less to insulin and the body compensates with higher levels, promoting fat storage and metabolic stress.

Who benefits

People with abdominal weight gain, post-meal energy crashes, difficulty losing weight, PCOS, or a family history of type 2 diabetes — including those whose blood sugar still reads normal.

Why it matters

Insulin resistance is an early, reversible stage of metabolic disease. Found early, it responds well to muscle, activity, and nutrition; ignored, it progresses toward prediabetes and diabetes.

How NorthStar approaches this differently

Measure first. Treat the cause.

We look earlier than a single glucose reading, combining the right markers with body composition and fitness. Then we prioritize what improves insulin sensitivity most — building muscle and movement first, medication when warranted.

Understand what is limiting you.
