Why Protein Matters for Metabolic Health
If there's one nutrition lever with broad metabolic benefit, it's adequate protein. It protects the muscle that drives your metabolism, helps control appetite, and supports nearly every goal we work toward.
Protein protects muscle
During weight loss or aging, the body can lose muscle along with fat. Adequate protein — paired with resistance training — signals the body to preserve and build muscle instead. Since muscle is the main driver of resting metabolism, protecting it protects your metabolic rate.
Protein helps control hunger
Protein is the most satiating macronutrient. Meals built around it tend to keep you fuller longer, which makes an eating plan easier to sustain without constant hunger.
How much, and why individualized
General guidance points higher than the old minimums, especially for active people and older adults — but the right target depends on your body composition and goals. That's why we anchor nutrition to your measured body composition rather than a generic number.
See where you stand
Education is the first step. A metabolic evaluation turns these concepts into your numbers — and a plan built around them.
